Elizabeth Eva Lewalski, PE
Ms. Lewalski is an engineering specialist in the area of transportation systems and equipment design, development, and management. Her education includes a BSc. in Aeronautical Engineering, and a MSc. in Aeronautical Engineering, both from the Technical University of Warsaw, Poland. Her professional experience with both engineering and managerial-level assignments stretches over thirty years in the USA, Canada and Poland. Since August 1986, Ms. Lewalski has owned and operated Transit Performance Engineering. She also publishes the newsletter Transit Performance, devoted to issues of public transportation.

Mr. John P. Arentz
Mr. Arentz is a passenger rail car and vehicle subsystems manufacturing Quality Assurance and Quality Control specialist with over 30 years of experience. His education includes Business Administration at Niagara University, Niagara Falls, NY, and QA Statistical Analysis at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. Among other positions he was QA Engineer with Thrall Car Manufacturing Co. and Quality Control Lead Inspector, with Budd Company, based in Philadelphia, PA. His overseas assignments as a resident inspector included 1 year at Nippon Sharyo in Toyokawa, Japan; over 1-1/2 years at Kawasaki in Kobe, Japan; 1-1/2 years at Linke, Hoffman, Busch in Salzgitter, Germany; and 2 years at Breda in Pistoia, Italy.

Mr. Richard J. Kohar, P.E.
Mr. Kohar has over 20 years of experience ranging from mechanical subsystems design to consulting engineering for railcars in Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, Vancouver and Toronto. He is also a specialists in CAD technology. Mr. Kohar has a superb record of experience in the area of railcar equipment, in the design, manufacture and testing of trucks, brakes, compressors and couplers.

Mr. Z. M. (Joe) Lewalski, P.E.
Mr. Lewalski holds engineering licenses in the U.S. and in Canada and is Principal of D&D Engineering. He has over 30 years of experience in designing and developing public transit vehicles. Among his major projects was the development of the bi-level commuter car (now servicing Toronto, Los Angeles and other cities) and the advanced light rail vehicle presently in Vancouver, BC, Toronto and Detroit.

Mr. Les Okreglak, P.E.
Mr. Okreglak holds a masters degree in mechanical engineering. He has over 30 years of professional experience; among other assignments he was for 6 years Chief Mechanical Engineer and for 23 years Vice President of Engineering with major manufacturing companies. He designs pneumatic and hydraulic systems, provides structural analysis and testing, and conducts inspections. He specializes in cable transportation systems.

Dr. James Parker, P.E.
Dr. Parker holds a professional engineering license in transit-related electrical and electronic technologies. He is a world-class authority in the area of automated train control, signaling and AC propulsion. He is a member of the Power and Signaling Sub-committees of the American Public Transit Association. He has directed several industry projects in these areas. Recently, Dr. Parker delivered lectures on advances in transit technologies in Japan, Korea, and Italy.

Mr. James Shook
In the area of transit vehicle industrial design and human factors, we offer services of Mr. James Shook, a leading industrial design specialist, a world-class authority in Design for mass transit and the recipient of many international design awards. Among other projects, his achievements include the industrial design for the GO Transit commuter bi-level car, the H5 Toronto subway car, the Mexican National Railroad (MDM) 1st and 2nd class coaches, the Boston MBTA Blue and Orange Line subway cars, and the Santa Clara LRV.

Mr. Roy Smith
Mr. Smith is the leading specialist in the area of truck and vehicle suspension, vehicle dynamics, and ride quality. Presently, his company, resco Engineering, designs and builds a range of rail vehicle products including retrofit packages to upgrade existing designs and complete new trucks. In the past, as Chief Engineer for Advanced Trucks for Urban Transportation Development Corporation, Mr. Smith was responsible for the development of steerable truck design for London Transport's Central Line, Toronto Transit Commission subway cars, and a version for a high-speed commuter car. Mr. Smith is the author of 23 patents and is listed in Who's Who in Mechanical Engineering. He has published over 50 papers and is a noted speaker at seminars.
